EU Public Procurement & TED
EU member states collectively spend around €2 trillion per year on public procurement — equivalent to roughly 14% of EU GDP. The EU Public Procurement Directives require contracting authorities across all 27 member states to publish contract notices and award notices in the Official Journal of the European Union, via the TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) platform.
TED is the official EU procurement journal and is one of the world's largest public procurement databases. TenderResults aggregates TED award notices so you can search across EU member state contracts in a single, simple interface — without needing to navigate the full TED database.
EU contract awards cover the full range of public sector spend: infrastructure and construction, ICT and digital services, defence and security, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, professional and consulting services, utilities and energy, and public transport.
CPV codes — classifying EU contracts
All EU procurement notices use the Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) — a classification system of numeric codes for goods, services and works. CPV codes allow cross-border comparison of procurement activity. TenderResults maps CPV codes to readable categories so you can filter by sector without needing to look up codes manually.
EU thresholds for publication on TED
Contracts above the EU procurement thresholds must be published in TED. Current thresholds (2024–2025) are approximately €143,000 for central government goods and services contracts, €221,000 for other public authority contracts, and €5.5 million for public works contracts. All notices meeting these thresholds from all 27 member states appear in TED.
